A jurat requires the following steps:
- The signer must appear in person before the Notary and sign the document in the Notaries presence.
- In Illinois, The Notary is required to positively identify the signer.
- The Notary must administer a spoken oath or an affirmation, and the signer must respond out loud. Silent answers such as a nod of the head are not acceptable.
Acknowledgment is signed in front of the notary.and jurat requires the affiant reaffirm their oath by signing the document in front of the notary.

Additional Notarial Acts – $2.00
Customers (65 or older) – Free (all acts) (*)(**)
Current or past Military Personnel – Free (all acts) (*)(**)
(*) Additional fees for travel, copies and scanning may be owed.
(**) Services rendered with in Rockford, Loves Park, Machesney Park and Cherry Valley Will not incur a travel Fee
